Johan Duijck born in 1954, is an outstanding pianist, choir conductor, composer and professor. He obtained the first prize in new modalities in the Royal College of Music of Ghent and Brussels and the Concert Diploma for piano and chamber music.
Johan Duijck graduated fron the prestigious Queen Elizabeth Music Chapel. His teachers are Robert Steyaert (piano), Peter Cabus (composition) and Laszlo Heltay (conducting).
Johan Duijck has peformed various recitals as a pianist and as a member of the Hans Membling Trio as well as many chamber music concerts. He obtained the Günther prize and the Pro Civitate, Tenuto, Ollin and Lefranc prizes.
Since the age of 18, Johan Duijck has conducted the Madrigal Choir of Ghent. He has participated as a guest conductor in festivals of internationsl renowm in Europe.
In 1994 hi was appointed conductor of the European Youth Choir by the European Choir Federation.
As a composer, Johan Duijck devotes himself to piano and choral music. He received the European Youth Festival pize (Neerpelt), the Choral Composition of Flanders pize and the “Composition Prize Epta” (European Piano Teachers Association).
In the pedagogical field, Johan Duijck has an excellent reputation as a teacher in the Royal College of Music of Ghent and in the Queen Elizabeth Music Chapel.
