get an ISO and use

• Rufus

• download W10 ISO, or put W10 on USB (using Media Creation Tool) -> does not run on W7 / T440

fix -> remove "Secure Boot" : video

Opening the BIOS Setup Utility :

1. turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
2. turn on the computer, and then immediately press the esc key repeatedly until the Startup Menu opens.
3. press F10 to open the BIOS Setup Utility.

On Rufus, set :

• Partition scheme := MBR ; (millor GPT)
• Target system := BIOS ; (millor UEFI)

On BIOS, set :

• compatibilidad heredada := enabled ;
• arranque seguro := disabled ;

Now we have Windows install, but no keyboard nor mouse

1. install Ubuntu (USB stick)

   b22@192.168.1.37

2. resize HDD :
   1. boot to a LiveCD or LiveUSB drive in try me mode
   2. start "Terminal" with Ctrl+Alt+"T"
   3. load gparted (should be installed by default, you can apt-get it if it's not)
   4. resize your partitions (right click, click resize, follow the instructions)
   5. click Apply and sit back while it does the job
   6. reboot, taking out the USB stick or CD when it tells you to

   ask ubuntu

3. get W10 : Win10_21H2_Spanish_x64.iso from uSoft

4. create a bootable USB using UNetbootin :
   1. sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gezakovacs/ppa
   2. sudo apt-get update
   3. sudo apt-get install unetbootin

   unetbootin

5. install W10 from Ubuntu

6. install Grub for Ubuntu

   To install and fix grub, you need LiveCD or LiveUSB of Ubuntu.
   Once you load Live Ubuntu, Open Terminal and fire following commands to install boot-repair and let it fix the Grub.

   sudo add-apt-repository ppa:yannubuntu/boot-repair && sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install -y boot-repair && boot-repair

   After installation, boot-repair will get automatically launched.
   Make sure to select “recommended repair” option to repair grub. Reboot.

  Once you have restarted, the last thing you have to do is go to Programs, Creative, Creative Audio Console. • SuSE 8.1 => NTOSKRNL.EXE missing
  The reason was that an fdisk program had changed the order of entries in the partition table. The cure was to experiment with the partition number in boot.ini until it could boot.
  Use TeraByte's EditBINI for NTFS (not FAT32) !
  As it was FAT16, it worked again when changed boot.ini to

• To restore the W2K boot sector :

  • select the option to repair a damaged W2K Pro installation. The system will prompt to insert the ERD. The W2K Pro setup will replace the files on the boot partition.

  Also, try to use gSpot to determine the codec needed for a file and the codecs on your computer (free). WMP mini FAQ and hint : using mplay32.exe under W2K usualy tells you what video codec is missing. Get them here.

  Disk 2 = 190.779,7 MB
  amb una partició NTFS de 100 GB (amb el XP botable) i 90,8 GB "Unallocated" !!!

• Install XP :
  • put as Master at Primary IDE
  • format using 2 x DiskWizard floppys
  • boot from XP CD
  • K = sebas2
  • 5 x users : Sebastia + Karme + Nikolau + Arkadi + Irina
    Set passwords : Control Panel + User Accounts.

• Quan el XP va ok, instalo BM 8.0 Requereix una partició FAT32 per guardar la configuració ! La creo i es torna "Hidden" per ser "Primary", not Logical. Conclusió : no puc editar BM !
  Faig servir Disk Wizard - Utilities + Update MBR Boot code Alternativa : de on descomprimim el BM, a la carpeta "c:\Temp\BTmagic\Rescueme" hi ha un Setup per cear un floppy amb el PQboot, que treu el BM !

  Recommendation : In most cases this task terminates once the Windows Update terminates and/or you exit the Windows XP Help. It has been known, however, not to terminate itself and instead to run away with CPU usage, up to 90%, with the obvious impact on the PC's performance. If this happens regularly create a DWORD entry called Headlines and give it the value of 0, for the following Registry Key

  This disables the Headlines feature which simply means that your Help and Support Center headlines are never updated.
