MUA - Mail User Agent, used to create the message and to handle it to sender's MTA.
MTA - Mail Transfer Agent. Usualy this program will be sendmail. Origin MTA and destination MTA will go thru a dialogue using SMTP.
LDA - Local Delivery Agent, usualy procmail, will append the received message to destination's user mailbox. Later, will be read by another MUA.
