The Municipal Museum of Alcover organizes
and develops numerous activities to promote the knowledge and consideration
of the surroundings of the palaeontological heritage that it holds.
General aims of the activities:
Introduce people to science.
Promote the incorporation of the geological
history's scientific method and analysis of planet earth.
Encourage the understanding of the earth's history through observation,
management, etc.
Awaken the spirit of observation, curiosity
and imagination.
Inform about the local palaeontological heritage and work with the
scientific community in the carrying out of the study and work.
These objectives are developed through
a wide range of activities of which are addressed to the school
groups that are developed around the following groups:
1.- Educational folders for
scholars.
2.- Guided visits to the permanent exhibition in the museum.
At the beginning of every school year
(September) the museum will produce a presentation about the educational
activities and materials that they have on offer to different educational
centres and teachers who are interested.

Approximate duration of visit: 2 and
1/2 hours.
