In searching through the FRC birth indexes 1858 and 1859, looking for Esther CLARK in Herts, I located (no others seeming relevant): Esther CLARK (birth registration second quarter of 1859 at Luton, reference 3 b 436), Esther CLARK (birth registration third quarter of 1859 at Bishops Stortford, reference 3 a 183, which is definitely not this Esther CLARK), and Esther Ann CLARK (birth registration fourth quarter of 1859 at St. Albans, reference 3 a 279); in the 1871 census (PRO reference RG10/1356/35/27) there is in Braughing an Esther CLARK aged 15, a servant, born in Braughing, living with Sarah BIGGS and Mary Ann DUCKHAM [Return]
