Kaldor / Knights Templar by Philkaos, Knight Templar |
The Battle
for Strongholt. Strongholt Burned!! (long history) It was late at night when the Marschall met his commanders by the
operations room, in the War academy. While entering the mighty room, the
five commanders stood and saluated. With a quick handsign Phil told them
back to their seats. He cleared throat, opened a set of rolled maps which
he disposed on the table. Using the tip of the compasses he pointed to a
location and said 'Time hath come to wake the Order's inner forces. This
will be the plan....' The following day the full troops of the Order were present at Beaufort. Everyone was busy, repairing armours, sharpening blades, and generally getting packs ready. There had been chariots coming to town and out all the morning on. Supplies had been stacked in the stables, but now there were crates, and bags, allmost everywhere. The Fleet was allready maneuvering in the bay, and the reflection of the sun in their white sails made them look like majestuous birds. Suddenly two groups of knights passed the gates of Beaufort, heavily armed and armored and headed south. This was supposed to be a patrol like everyday's, and the Templars had been ordered to scout the road south of Templewood in order to clear the way for the passage of the Main. Marching quite happily through the woods, they splitted in order to scout the bridge to the west, and and guard outpost to the south. Had the first group made only one mile towards the outpost, that they heard a battle cry coming from the trees around them. They sticked their ranks and pulled arms, but the fury of the attackers was too much for them, and only a few escaped alive. The other banner, back from the bridge met the Darkcloaks group on the road. Taking some heavy damage at the first charge, they retaliated heavily and dispersed their opponents in the wild. The road was clear now, but for how long? Another patrol was ordered more to the southern lands. The Council of the Sword Brethren was deeply concerned about the state of the region surrounding the capitol city of Britain. Many reports had shown that the roads were infested with spies and infiltrators. The patrol left just on time, at the sun fall. The moral of the troops was good as the last engagement had turned into the favour of the Knights Templars. They quickly headed south to the Crossroads of Compassion then made their way through the Hopper's bog, promptly dealing with the dark beings that roam the swamps as of late. Passing through the capitol city of Britain, they headed south again to the moongate. The woods surrounding the road were strange though, as someone noticed. There were no birds to be heard, nor any of the noises a forest naturally produces. The nature was silent, as if something was preparing in the shadows. Shivering a bit in the declining day, the knights hastily pressed on south. Then the last ray of the sun reflected on a metallic thing the knights could see a few distance ahead of them. Ennemies! The Kaldorian troops had the road barred and from the shadows the Brotherhood of the Dark Age charged at the templars. The comfusion was total, and the templars were caught under crossed fires. Their main fell quickly, and the rare survivors were chased back all the way to Britain past the bank. Phil was standing on the roof of Beaufort, minding his own thoughts when the sound of a fast-riding scout reached his ears. Arching eyebrows, he muttered to himself 'what this all again?' , stared at the messenger riding through the town square, past the Tavern straight to Beaufort's gates. A few minutes later, listening at the fresh news Phil thought ' The bridge on the road between Britain and Trinsic.. they cut us off our allies.. this can not be' The Kaldorian encampment was set on both sides of the bridge, and the road was heavily barricaded. When the troops of the Templars arrived in sight of the bridge it was the end of the morning. Their minds were clear, their thoughts were pure. They had been heavily trained and are now very experienced warriors. The ennemy could not pass. Proceeding on the both sides of the road the two banners now carefully were making their way to the roadblock. At the silent sign of the officers, the charge was ordered. Just coming out of the woods they were greeted by heavy fire from the barricade, whick stuck them to the ground. For long the battle was undecided, the archers exchanging arrows and clerics or magi summoning the elemental energies to take the upper hand. At some point a deep sound emerged from the barricade, and the Maul Knights charged the right flank of their ennemies. No more needs say, the clash was simply too violent and the bridge stayed to the Darkwood alliance. Back to the Sword Brethren council room, Phil turned the map upside down and said: 'Very well. If we cant take the road, then we'll take the sea. Warn the admiral of the fleet to keep ready' The white vessels of the Templars navy were loaded with packs. All had been planned for a lengthy expedition, which some were seeing as a crusade, a crusade against the forces of darkness. Bearing the war pavilion, the vessels left Templewood to the harbour of Trinsic. From there they followed the coast line east, then south and then west, pushed by the winds towards the Southern Beach. The fleet met no resistance untill its goal, and quickly an outpost was built. This was meant to be a bridgepoint for the Templar's army to use for sending in more troops. With no time to breathe for the exhausted travellers, their ennemies showed their faces. The Kaldorian Commander Lenar came in to try and discuss the presence of this army near from his Stronghold. But as he came without escort he was promptly surrounded and made prisonner, his legs and hands tied and thrown to an edge of the fort. Outraged by the capture of their commander, the Kaldorians tried to storm the Templar's outpost, but one by one they fell to the flying arrows or the dancing swords. A devastating charge from defenders was then ordered, which left no chance the the forces of the Darkwood alliance. South Beach Post was going to become a myth in the Order's history. After the battle the Templars had taken three prisonners. The Commander offcourse, but allso two of his men who were captured during the man-hunt that followed the main battle. They were sent back by sea to the Trinsic jails, where the guards could take good care of them. The troops were gathered for the final assault. Strongholt was there,
just a stonethrow ahead. They all knew what sort of things evil beings
like the folks of Kaldor could do inside theese mighty walls. It's not
just a rumour that has filtrated that people were tortured in there. |

The
rebuilding of Kaldor Keep As Kaldor Keep was burned down last night by the so-called "purifying fire" of the Templars, no one is permitted to enter the building due to the structural insecurity of the Keep. We will use the Tavern as our base of operations from now on. In order to gather the materials needed for the citizens to repair the
building, the Army will be required to gather resources. These must be
gathered on IC hunts and not bought/taken from a mule character. You will
be able to put the resources on piles on the doorstep of Kaldor Keep. The
following materials are needed: This set back will not get us down, we will bounce back with more force and more power than ever before!

We shall have nay pity next time ! *adds some of Fyonnah's hair to the letter* Perchance, me has more respect for her than ye ! But next time me threat will become reality ! One of her finger broken per pirate hurt ! If ye come to slay one, things may be even worst for her !!! If ye wish to see her back and alive in the future, behave ! Otherwise, be prepared to pay the consequences and to never see her again in yer tavern ! I demand 10000 coins of gold to make amends of the injuries, threats and the insults done to me pirates ! Fyonnah,
the Tavernkeeper Kidnapped in Valoria ! *The letter is addressed to the Council of Valoria and to the different Guildmasters* Dear Councillors, Guildmasters, for those who dost not know me, I be Talik, citizen and informant at the moment. As some of you know, I had, by the past, some serious problems with a crew of pirates. They did ruin my past life, murdered my family and indirectly condamned me to an exil during 35 to the grey world. Almost one year ago, I could recover life with the Valorians great help. Its only meaning is today to track this evil pirate wherever he will go and what ever are the risks ! My investigations leaded me once again to Valoria. I was surprised as he turned up with more pirates than usual. I though it was to load some food supplies. But I quickly understood they wish to head to the tavern for some reasons I still ignore. I shadowed them till the tavern... It seemed they were after a certain person.. Finally, a person came out. I reconised Fyonnah, the Tavernkeeper. Things continued roughly. They had a quarel, I believe those two people were closed in the past. Those guys were really rude with the woman. Apparantly, they were seeking something... But it was most confusing... Things went even worst as they became more upset. They rushed into the tavern, and starts to demolish furnitures and Xmas decoration looking for something... During the action, one fellow dared entering the tavern. Perchance, the pirates finally let him leave the place freely. Alas, as they did not obtain what they were seeking... they kidnapped the local Tavernkeeper, the lady called Fyonnah. I could see them leaving with their boat. It seems that they were not completed on that boat. I had lot of chance as I could track them till Vesper docks... But, once in the City, I could not shadow them more. Then I decided to write down this report and to post it to you. May this help you to recover your tavernkeeper. Your devoted servant, Read more here.

Opening in
Nujel'm: Order of the Ankh allowed to stablish a Mission
*a noble-looking owl lands on the Grand Vizier's window bearing a letter written with the eloquence and script of a learned scholar* Greetings to the magnanimous, wise, and beautiful Grand Vizier of Nujel'm, Her Eminence Ashoka Naz'Rudin; I pray that this humble letter finds thee in both good health, and wealth, and that thee may find the time to consider it amidst what I am sure is a horrendous workload. My name is Maitreya, a monk of the Virtuous Order of the Ankh, and lately Bishop of Minoc. The aim of our Order hath always been to spread peace, understanding, and tolerance to as many as we can reach through the Virtues, a task we dedicate our lives to, for the good of all. Thus is why I humbly implore thee for leave by which I might be allowed to come to thy noble city to further this task, through teaching and example to the good people of Nujel'm, as a Missionary of Virtue. It has come to my attention that relations of late between thy city and Trinsic hath become somewhat strained, and it is my hope that such a mission might do something to soothe such tensions by spreading the message of love and peace contained within the Virtues. I would be most honoured if thy Eminence would grant shelter and sanction to this task, which is by no means to seek to force converts to our faith, but rather to offer guidance to those already with the Virtues in their hearts in Nujel'm, and allow others to understand our beliefs more clearly, perhaps even to adopt some of the spirit of the Virtues themselves. I trust that thee will consider this plea with wisdom and come to a decision in the best interests of thee and thy people. In Respect and Deference, To the Good Father Maitreya: Of course we shall be delighted to welcome
thee to Our Shores. No doubt Our people will benefit from the soothing
words of Peace and Love thee wish to share. We shall grant thee a place to
live here, within the palace that thee might benefit from Our vast
library, and show thee the amenities due one of thy Order. Ashoka Naz'Rudin *The letter is sent back by the regal owl* |

TRINSIC |
Trinsic
supports the annexation of Papua, Terathon, and Kos Heb by the Sultanate
of Nujel'm
It was night, and the tower was silent after the usual hustle and bustle of the day. The Duke sat at his desk and rubbed his eyes wearily. So many long late meetings, so many people to talk to, so many things to think about, weigh up, consider. He looked again at the pile of reports and summaries and messages ... everything seemed to be marked "Urgent!" these days ... at least he had met now with Lady Moiraine and discussed the basis for a treaty with Nujel'm. And he hoped she understood his position better, as he now understood hers. The Fellowship had always had close ties with Trinsic, those would not be severed no matter what the outcomes of this matter. The earlier meeting with Prince Orlando had been good too, reaffirming the strong alliance and friendship between Duchy and Knights Templar. It was good to know that the Trinsic garrison would be more present, and the extra assistance with guarding the city would indeed be welcomed. The unexpected attendance of Aeribian of Spiritwood could be turned to good account too, he would no doubt carry word back to Duke Pad ... another group of staunch allies there. Yes, Trinsic was more powerful than it might appear at first sight, and perhaps the time had come to consider looking to assist in defence elsewhere rather than concentrating only on holding the city. His mind turned to Ikus ... Ikus was up to something, he could feel it. His cousin had always been the one with the devious plots and plans, as boys growing up together Ikus was always the instigator of mischief with himself the follower ... following willingly of course, for the most part. He smiled to himself at a few memories, then sighed. Life had been a great deal simpler then. But Ikus had gone to see the Vizier and straight afterwards had come the announcement of annexation. Coincidence perhaps? Maybe he was just being too suspicious. He looked again at the blank sheet of paper in front of him. How could
he write this notice, knowing more than was comfortable about Nujel'm
dealing with the Drow, knowing what had transpired in Naeloth the night
before? But the diplomatic ties, and the treaty, were thereby made more
necessary than ever. He rubbed his eyes again, then picked up his pen,
dipped it in the ink pot and wrote a short notice to be posted publically. Irvyn Middlethorn He looked at the bald statement and sighed again. A few would understand, but many would not. And when the treaty was signed it would probably be worse. He made several copies to go to various people and noticeboards, carefully affixing his personal seal to each one. The letter from the Grand Vizier must be answered too. He rubbed his
chin thoughtfully and read it again, smiling a little sardonically at the
mention of passage fees and acts of war. The trade might be more one way
than she hoped, but both could gain advantages here. He took another sheet
of paper and wrote a short reply, enclosing a copy of the notice. Your Eminence, I thank thee for thy letter and pray thou wilt forgive the brevity of my response. I write in haste as I wish thee to receive this message swiftly. As thou wilt see from the enclosure herein, I will support thine occupation of Papua and other places. But I must make one proviso ~ although of course I am sure there is no need to say this ~ that thou keepest the various passages between the Lost Lands and Britannia guarded securely, and allowest no force to use them that might have hostile intent. As indeed shall we do also where we can, that thou mayst be protected in turn. I regret most deeply the loss of thy fellahin in the collapse of the Trinsic passage, and I would ask that thou wilt pass on word of my sympathy to their families. It is my hope that the repairs to the passage go speedily and successfully. I would also ask that thou, in the kindness of thine heart, shouldst instruct thy workmen to take care around the Trinsic side of the passage and not leave the immediate area. With recent troubles my people are particularly alert, and although I shalt warn them of thine activities, I should in no wise wish some over-zealous guard to cause any incident shouldst thy people stray too far. Mayst thou know the peace of the Virtues. Irvyn Middlethorn He sealed the letter and put it to one side. Sempronio would as always
be up at first light, and he would courier this to Nujel'm immediately,
understanding the urgency of the matter.

A
Declaration of War against the Dark Cloaks
(DeadCal killed)
This has, however, ended in tragedy. Miss DeadCal, who was assisting in the ritual, clearly disobeyed my instructions and attempted to fight the beast herself. Whilst she is not dead, she is no longer in our plane of reality. I offered a proper burial for the time being, and had even begun research into recovering her from the ethereal plane. Apparently, this was not good enough for the Dark Cloaks, as their mistress has accused Glorion and I of murdering DeadCal. This is completely absurd - especially since the individual in question is, as previously stated, not dead. They claim they are seeking revenge against the Templars for the death of their companion - despite Glorion and I risking our own souls to save one of their others. Thus I beseech thee, my brothers, to aid us. The Dark Cloaks are NOT to be tolerated within the region of Beaufort. Should you spot one, either immediately call for backup or bring swift justice to them. Do not allow them to roam unhindered. First, you should ask them to leave the area. If they do not, you may draw arms against them. Do not hesitate, for these deceitful villains will not hesitate to stab thy back shouldst thou turn away for more than an instant. Regards,
