It is a variant form of PI-t1-050.

Hithpa'el, four forms of verbs having a ס, a שׁ or a שׂ as their 1st root consonant and having at the time א or ר as their middle root consonant:

1. perfect, 3rd singular masculine:

הִסְתָּרֵק ׀ הסתרק ----- he/it) combed him/itself

סָרַק ----- comb

הִשְׂתָּרֵר ׀ השתרר ----- he/it) prevailed

שָׂרַר ----- rule, govern


2. Construct infinitive:

(לְ) הִסְתָּרֵק ׀ הסתרק ----- to) comb him/itself

סָרַק ----- comb

(לְ) הִשְׂתָּרֵר ׀ השתרר ----- to) prevail

שָׂרַר ----- rule, govern


2. Absolute infinitive:

הִשְׂתָּרֵר ׀ השתרר ----- to) prevail (Num 16:13f

שָׂרַר ----- rule, govern


3. Imperative, 2nd person singular masculine:

הִשְׁתַּנָּה ׀ השתנה ----- change!, become different! (you, male

שָׁנָה ----- change
