Of verbs ל"ה having a guttural as their first root consonant:

1.

Qal imperfect, 1st person singular apocopated. See too P-txxx.

(וָ)אַעַן | (ו)אען----- and) I will ask (Zec 4:12

עָנָה----- to ask (Mic 6:5

(וָ)אַעַל | אעל----- and) I will go up (Deu 10:3

עָלָה----- to go up (Jos 8:20

(וָ)אַעַשׂ | (ו)אעש----- and) I will do (Eze 12:7

עָשָׂה----- to do (Gen 13:4

Pay attention!

The verbs:

אָתָה, come (Isa 21:12)

הָיָה, be (Zec 7:1)

חָדָה, rejoice (#)

חָיָה, live (Ecc 6:6)

חָנָה, encamp (Isa 29:1)

חָרָה, burn of anger (Gen 4:6)

are not following this rule.

2.

Hiph'il imperfect, 1st person singular apocopated.

(וָ)אַעַל | אעל----- and) I will cause to go up (Num 23:4

עָלָה----- to go up (Jos 8:20
