Fer servir "NAT networking" entre el W2K "host" (T30) i el "guest" (VMware). Ficar DHCP al W2K "guest" ...
El VMNET porta un DHCP virtualitzat, funciona per broadcast, dins de la subxarxa vmnet.
Llavors des del "guest" fas coses com aquesta: 

 c:> net use * \\192.168.1.2\c$ /user:username *
La IP del "host" NAT es 192.168.1.1 La IP del "GW" es 192.168.1.2

A veure, jo deszipejaria aquesta bola en un directori nou que es digui "windows 2000 - dos", per exemple. Llavors obriria el VMWARE i li diria... File -> open virtual machine ... i wala ! Ja la tens al teu "inventory list" !

El .VMX es el que veu el File + Open !

Els fitxers "*.VMDK" ocupen 13 GB a F:\LinuxVM ... Per reduirlo, ... llegir User's Manual, specifically the chapter on Using Disks. Look for Defragmenting and Shrinking Virtual Disks.

Coses que m'han passat i/o punts interessants :
  • el CD virtual ha de apuntar a l'imatge ISO (Linex).

  • modificar (F2) el boot sequence de la BIOS, amb SHIFT plus + to the Left of BackSpace

  • el disk virtual SCSI m'ha dit kernel panic

  • quan comença l'instalació del Linex, anar a un altra finestra (Alt+F2) i crear les particions (fdisk /dev/hda) i un filesystem (mkfs.ext2 /dev/hda1)

  • instalar el gestor de arranque al MBR, car es virtual !

  • per desactivar els "beeps" que emula el VMWARE quan corres un S.O. pots afegir mks.noBeep="TRUE" a l'arxiu .VMX de la teva màquina virtual

  • com permetre que un usuari (no root) o un grup de usuaris pugui ficar ETH0 en modus "promiscuo" : here

Format of the format string

The format string is a character string, beginning and ending in its initial shift state, if any. The format string is composed of zero or more directives: ordinary characters (not %), which are copied unchanged to the output stream; and conversion specifications, each of which results in fetching zero or more subsequent arguments. Each conversion specification is introduced by the character %, and ends with a conversion specifier. In between there may be (in this order) zero or more flags, an optional minimum field width, an optional precision and an optional length modifier.

The arguments must correspond properly (after type promotion) with the conversion specifier. By default, the arguments are used in the order given, where each `*' and each conversion specifier asks for the next argument (and it is an error if insufficiently many arguments are given). One can also specify explicitly which argument is taken, at each place where an argument is required, by writing `%m$' instead of `%' and `*m$' instead of `*', where the decimal integer m denotes the position in the argument list of the desired argument, indexed starting from 1. Thus, printf("%*d", width, num); and printf("%2$*1$d", width, num); are equivalent. The second style allows repeated references to the same argument. The C99 standard does not include the style using `$', which comes from the Single Unix Specification. If the style using `$' is used, it must be used throughout for all conversions taking an argument and all width and precision arguments, but it may be mixed with `%%' formats which do not consume an argument. There may be no gaps in the numbers of arguments specified using `$'; for example, if arguments 1 and 3 are specified, argument 2 must also be specified somewhere in the format string.

For some numeric conversions a radix character (`decimal point') or thousands' grouping character is used. The actual character used depends on the LC_NUMERIC part of the locale. The POSIX locale uses `.' as radix character, and does not have a grouping character. Thus, printf("%'.2f", 1234567.89); results in `1234567.89' in the POSIX locale, in `1234567,89' in the nl_NL locale, and in `1.234.567,89' in the da_DK locale.

Si vols "portar" el teclar i pantalla del pc de csa a la feina, necessites el tightVNC: http://www.tightvnc.com/ Ves directament a download i l'instal.les (a casa, el server complert, a la feina, el viewer). Hauras de obrir el port 5900 de tipus TCP (que no UDP); ho trobaras a la pagina admin del router a "port forwarding". Cambia la password del router si no ho has fet encara; les default passwords corren per internet a punta pala.

Si vols passar arxius amunt i avall, una VPN li hauras de instal.lar a casa, complicadot pero divertit. Si es per jugar i fer "ftp" de tant en tant, amb el NetCat per windows triunfes: http://www.vulnwatch.org/netcat/. O OpenSSH.

    Creo que PyDev y PyDevExtensions son un buen comienzo para tener un entorno IDE para python en eclipse. Sería para realizar desarrollo web utilizando Jython, que es otro package de python que acaba produciendo java code. En fin, necesitas Python 2.3.x o 2.4.x + Jython + Java 1.4 para poderlo utilizar.
    No puedo decirte si vas a tener una vista de todas las clases. Básicamente creo que para ver todas las clases sólo necesitas el intérprete de python y escribir help(), que te dice todos los módulos y luego help(module) que te da información específica de lo que hay en un módulo.
