This section consists, basically, of data provided by Trond Mjos Johnsen, from Norway.
| Gear | Reduction (1) | rwr/er (2) | m/er (3) | er/m (4) |
| 1st | 2.57 | 0.063 | 0.13 | 7.83 |

| 5th | 0.96 | 0.168 | 0.34 | 2.93 |
Notes:
(1) These figures, together with the values for
"primary reduction" (1.888) and "final reduction" (3.266) are from Honda's
instruction book. I guess 1.888=17/9 , 3.266=49/15 (teeth in wheel sprocket/teeth
in front sprocket), and gear reductions are 18/7 , 16/9 , 11/8 , 9/8 ,
24/25 .
(2) This stands for rear_wheel_revolutions per
engine_revolution . Or 1/(primary_reduction*gear_reduction*final_reduction).
(3) This stands for metres_moved per engine_revolution.
It assumes a wheel circumference of 2.025 m. The diameter (mm) of a wheel
with a 17" rim and a 130-80 tyre is 17*25.4+130*80/100*2 = 2,010 mm
(4) This stands for engine_revolutions per metre.
It is just 1/(3).

Note:
These figures are obtained from the ones in the previous
table. So, any change such as in tyre size or number of teeth in sprockets
will make them vary accordingly.
Also, due to wheel spin, these figures must be reduced
by some 1% per 100 km/h. Acceleration or sliding tarmac increase spin,
whereas deceleration reduces it (can even make it become negative). Actual
spin ranges between 1% and 5% in most circumstances
